About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Financial Operations (VPFO) to provide strategic leadership in financial management and budget planning. The VPFO will be a key figure in ensuring the institution's financial health and sustainability, aligning financial strategies with its mission, objectives, and values. This executive will participate in strategic planning, drive financial planning, and develop cash flow projection processes. Additionally, the role involves managing a team of finance professionals, establishing financial policies and procedures, and overseeing financial reporting to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.Candidates for the VPFO position should have a Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a CPA, CMA, or relevant professional certification being a plus. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in higher education or the non-profit sector, is required. The successful candidate will have strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills, and a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams. Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential, as is a strong knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and compliance. The VPFO will also be responsible for risk management, investment and capital strategy, and stakeholder management, including presenting financial reports to various audiences and collaborating with development and fundraising teams.
