Basic Utility/Sanitation Worker Purpose:

GA Foods is hiring a Utility/Sanitation Worker to assist in maintaining a clean operation and proper sanitation of service articles and equipment. This is an entry-level position in a food production environment, with no previous experience required. The ideal Utility/Sanitation Worker will be a candidate with proven outstanding attendance record who is looking to grow with a company.

Utility/Sanitation Worker Responsibilities, Including but not Limited To:

  • Performs equipment cleaning, dishwashing, general cleaning, scrubbing, floor cleaning, restroom cleaning and other related work in keeping the plant, offices and grounds clean using in-house cleaning equipment, aids and preparations
  • Maintain cleanliness and follow proper sanitation procedures for food preparation equipment, coolers, freezers, sinks, restrooms, dishroom, general work areas and dock, waste (outside garbage)
  • Assist kitchen staff with packing and portioning of meals as needed
  • Prepares and cleans dock area as needed throughout the work day, compacts trash and cardboard, empties, sprays and pushes transporter warmers to pot room, cleans parking areas and ground
  • Participate in company-required training
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Utility/Sanitation Worker Requirements:
  • No prior experience required, preference given to candidates with production background
  • Able to follow instructions/directions
  • Able to meet employer's attendance standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification a plus
  • Work Schedule: 9pm- 4:30am.
Physical Demands:
  • Under 1/3: Climb or balance, Taste or smell
  • 1/3 to 2/3: Stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl
  • Over 2/3: See, Stand, Walk, Use hands to finger/handle/feel, Reach with hands and arms, Talk or hear
Weight Lifting/Exertion
  • 1/3 to 2/3: Up to 50 lbs.
  • Over 2/3: Up to 25 lbs.
