Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

You will work on AMDs Quality Systems design and development programs, responsible for quality engineering functions related to Semiconductor Product development & New Product Introduction (Electronic components, Software, & IP) as well as problem investigation and corrective action. This entails process & risk assessment as it related to the management system implementation, investigation, assessment/audit process mapping, and engineering documentation, with multiple engineering disciplines. This role will also participate in the operational aspects of the quality management system, specifically in the administration of the internal audit, corrective action, and process development/continuous improvement initiatives, programs, and projects.

THE PERSON:

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and a systematic approach to your job. As a team player, you are used to delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform as a lead auditor for internal audits of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) ISO9001:2015, ISO26262, generate audit reports, and facilitate external certification audits.
  • Drive continual improvement activities with cross functional teams to assess, develop, implement, and control product, software, and IP quality processes, procedures, key process indicators, release exit criteria, and other engineering development quality controls.
  • Applies broad understanding of industry standards (DO-254, IEC61508, ISO26262) to ensure product safety standards are met.
  • Demonstrates fluency in the quality management systems function and works to further the quality of the product and the implementation of the management system.
  • Document, communicate, and provide process guidance on variances from requirements among process owners, stakeholders, and management.
  • Represents the quality systems function in the global organization.
  • Represents AMD in compliance discussions / audits with registrars and customers for all elements of a functional safety certification.
  • Use the corporate Corrective and Preventive Action system to drive root cause determination and implement improvements.
  • Ability to evaluate processes and work flows to create measurement indices for process performance management.
  • The candidate is expected to communicate effectively and extensively with internal customers and quality management for successful implementation of this job function.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct experience with Semiconductor Quality Management Systems, Quality Engineering, or Quality Assurance
  • Lead auditor certification to ISO9001:2015 (minimum).
  • Experience with ASIC design tools, application development, software implementation.
  • Experience in Automotive industry (PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP).
  • ASQ/ISO 26262 certification, engineer, auditor, or software quality is highly desired.
  • Engineer, auditor, or software quality is highly desired.
  • Quality documentation, creation, process flow mapping/development, project planning, and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of CMMI standards, implementation, and methodologies.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors or Masters degree in related discipline preferred.
