REPORTS TO: Chief of Midland ISD Police Department

EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
  • One to three years clerical and file experience

Position Function/Purpose

To assist members of the Police Department with data entry, filing, organizing, and preparing documents and files or labels.

Essential Functions
  1. Assist department staff with data entry
  2. Assist campuses and departments with report requests as needed.
  3. Review weekly reports for all areas with staff, contracted-out staff, and cleanup data discrepancies.
  4. Maintain multiple departmental emails.
  5. Assist employees with Skyward Employee Access and online platforms.
  6. Receive calls and answer questions concerning the department or direct questions to the appropriate individual.
  7. Dispense department forms and answer any questions concerning them.
  8. Handle backup duties when the departmental secretary is unavailable
  9. Maintain office supply inventory.
  10. Coordinate meeting/training locations and times.
  11. Submit work orders for department staff.
  12. Manage the Police website.
  13. Maintain confidential documents.

Records and Correspondence

15. Prepare correspondence, forms, records, and reports using a personal computer.

16. Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various federal, state and local reports.

Other

17. Maintain confidentiality.

18. Perform all other duties as assigned
