Payroll Accountant - Flexible Schedule

Position Overview:

Employ-Temps Staffing Services is seeking a highly skilled part-time, on-site Corporate Accountant to join our team. This role can be based out of our Medina, OH branch or our North Canton, OH branch. The ideal candidate will be proficient in payroll tax compliance, have a solid understanding of Human Resource principles, and have experience running payroll in an ATS, HRIS, or similar technology.

  • Competitive Pay: $30-$35/hr
  • Hours: 9am - 3pm M-F (Possibility for hybrid schedule after 90 probation period)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of payroll, daily accounting functions, and additional accounting activities as needed
  • Input payroll daily and weekly into ATS back-office system and work with branch team to ensure timely and complete timecard submittal
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax compliance
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Coordinate with senior management on daily Human Resources activity including benefits management, compliance, employee relations management, and documentation.
  • Work with the senior management and corporate accounting team to review all balance reconciliations monthly
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate payroll processing, including calculating wages, taxes, and deductions, and ensure timely payment to employees.
  • Provide payroll and tax compliance analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, accounting
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or equivalent account software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing and tax compliance.
  • Expertise in Human Resources administration, management, and application of HR principles within an organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
