Dispute Resolution Specialist

About the role:

The Dispute Resolution Specialist (DRS) is responsible for resolving consumer disputes by reviewing and answering Direct (written) Disputes, Indirect (credit reporting agency disputes) and verbal disputes The DRS role requires research and investigative abilities to examine consumer dispute information, as well as supplement documentation provided by the consumer and creditor and to compare that information against Phoenixs records and Phoenixs client/creditor records.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all dispute material provided by the consumer and compare the information to Phoenix and its clients information.
  • Determine if consumer disputes are valid.
  • Document and update inaccurate consumer information when applicable.
  • Respond timely and accurately via e-OSCAR or email (with consent) with consumers or credit reporting agencies.
  • Document and update disputed account information in the CRM system of record.
  • Notify management of any possible patterns or practices that could expose consumers to harm or create liabilities for Phoenix.
  • Provide timely, professional, accurate and responsive information and answers to all stakeholders in the process, including Phoenix clients.
  • Professionally engage with management and other DRS employees for advice and/or help to proactively resolve disputes.

Required/Preferred Background

  • Ability to use multiple electronic platforms for communicate with consumers and clients
  • Build and maintain positive and professional relationships.
  • Possess excellent customer service, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1-2 years of experience in the collection industry, ideally in management or compliance.
