The Associate Director of Veterinary Marketing will oversee the company's veterinary marketing strategy to drive profitable growth and achieve leadership for the manufacturing of animal pharma products.

The Associate Director of Veterinary Marketing will understand the commercial aspects of business as well as the veterinary market and the needs of the clinic staff. You will be an integral member of the commercial team, helping develop and implement the company's go-to-market and growth strategies. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing sales and marketing plans to achieve veterinary sales targets and category leadership.

Responsibilities will include channel strategy development, annual budgeting, brand management, forecasting, promotional planning and executing, and relationship building with key customers.

Job Details:

  • Lead the development of the veterinary marketing strategy with the veterinary sales team in accordance with corporate goals.
  • Manage and build relationships with veterinary accounts to deliver annual sales and profit targets in domestic markets and establish short and long-term sales goals for all products.
  • Manage and grow capabilities of the veterinary marketing team, which includes brand managers and associate brand managers.
  • Provide P&L oversight for veterinary brands to maximize profitability by growing top-line sales and managing selling and advertising expenses.
  • Lead the development of veterinary channel insights and category innovation and remain the category captain with the veterinarian.
  • Lead the development of support materials for new and/or existing products.
  • Lead the management and strategy behind veterinary events and sponsorships that include influencers, tradeshows, and other events.
  • Maintain expertise in veterinary clinics, the online veterinary landscape, and competition, identifying trends and online growth opportunities.
  • Develop annual sales and marketing plans with the veterinary sales team and create and execute annual promotional plans for veterinary products with customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with ecommerce, retail, and sales teams to help define go-to-market strategies from product concept to product launch through analysis and research to meet customer needs.
  • In collaboration with Demand Planning, create annual forecasts and provide monthly updates and inputs to allow for on-time delivery.
  • Propose marketing based on market demand and insights and advise regarding promotional opportunities.
  • Assist with brand protection and collaborate with Brand Protection and Marketing to remedy problems.
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.
Qualifications
  • DVM or VMD and MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of CPG veterinary and marketing experience domestically
  • In-depth understanding of the veterinarian and clinic staff, developing and executing sales and marketing strategy, plans, and campaigns
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills - experience analyzing data and actively communicating business unit KPI's to the executive team and other business units.
  • Working knowledge of negotiation, and understanding of general terms and conditions
  • Experience growing organizational capabilities.
