The Solutions Architect - Software Engineer is a vital role in our organization and will provide value for our clients in modernizing their application development and deployment strategy by providing strategic input into application architecture, technology, and solutions within CompuNet’s technology practices. The Solutions Architect - Software Engineer is expected to focus on working with strategic customers in evaluating, re-architecting, and re-designing customer-developed applications. This role will partner with CompuNet’s local Engineering teams, Account Executives, Engineering Directors, and Managers to develop and maintain architectural frameworks that can be standardized and delivered on, all while evolving CompuNet’s technology portfolios.

Members of the Application Architecture Team typically include a combination of experience in the following disciplines: software development, cloud architecture, application delivery, application security, and business analytics. This wide range of competencies allows the team to develop a broad and deep understanding of customer requirements and market trends that drive optimal solution development practices. As a member of the Application Architecture team, it is imperative you have the ability and can perform the necessary tasks to fully support our client's and CompuNet initiatives. This vital role is crucial to the peering and mentoring of other Engineers both internally and with our customers. To be considered for this position it is essential that you have well developed communication skills and can demonstrate, from your past experience, proven technical ability, a refined relationship management skill set, and problem-solving skills to very high levels for our clients as well as internal CompuNet resources.

Core Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

The Solutions Architect - Software Engineer is expected to allocate 85% of their time executing/overseeing customer consulting initiatives and 15% of their time supporting pre-sales initiatives relating to application architecture

Rationalization of best software frameworks / code bases / architectures to meet customer needs

Assess the customer needs to recommend: rehost, refactor, revise, rebuild, or replace the application

Significant & frequent customer guidance & collaboration on solution development

Evaluate the custom development landscape and translate into solutions for our clients and the CompuNet Engineering team

Engage with Senior Application Architects to drive the technology strategy within CompuNet

Engage and assist local Solutions Engineers with key strategic accounts and drive new opportunities

Peer with local Solutions Engineers in efforts to shadow and mentor in the pre-sales, architecting and implementation efforts

Peer with other Principal Engineers in efforts to create a feedback loop between architecture design and successful delivery of the design

Perform necessary pre-sales technical functions to create systems designs

Development of deployment standards for CompuNet’s diverse Customer base and verticals

Pair with Engineering Directors and Managers to review projects scopes for validation

Partner with Sales and local market Solutions Engineers to assist opening net new accounts and schedule introductory meetings

Interface with Engineering Directors and Managers to assist in identifying services opportunities and needs

Assist Engineering Directors and Managers in recruiting and hiring efforts in local market

Coordinate with Engineering on lab resources and standardization efforts across regions

Key Expectations of this role:

Listen and address customer technical challenges and design the right solution that scales and integrates to their desired points with CompuNet Enterprise Architectural Framework approach and mindset

Work with different customers in different stages of application modernization simultaneously

Create customer project plans for application modernization that will include things such as: code samples, code review, workshops, application architecture designs (in partnership with app architecture engineers on the team), etc..

Relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff

Assist with bill of materials, statements of work, technical proposal components

Provide both the pre-sales designs and post-sales implementations along with engineering peers

Be an active champion and leader in the respected business unit

Be an active participant in the larger technology community partnering with and managing vendor relationships

Be involved in the new vendor selection process and peer with engineers to own that relationship

Be a subject matter expert within the respected business unit

Maintain existing certification partnership status working with the BDM’s & Innovation

Participate in all team functions including calls, meetings, events, etc.

Tight communication with other Solutions Architects and Principal Engineers

20 - 30% travel is expected

Minimum Requirements:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

8+ years of experience converting legacy applications to modern de-coupled applications & services oriented architecture (micro-services)

8+ years of experience with one, or ideally multiple software frameworks

.Net Legacy (ex: Webforms, etc…) Blazor Razor Serverless/Functions

Angular

Laravel

React

Vue

5+ years of experience implementing middleware and integration products into applications (Ex: Messaging, API management, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with application security (ex: web application firewalling)

Experience with application networking and high availability

Relevant certifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate

Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert

AWS Certified Developer-Associate

Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field.

Experience gathering customer requirements, white-boarding/presenting solutions, developing a Bill of Materials (BOM) and preparing project Statements of Work (SOWs).
