Job Type Part-timeDescriptionThe Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph is seeking a Safe Environment Volunteer Coordinator who is responsible for leading compliance oversight for volunteers engaging in programs involving minors, and for implementation of safe environment education programs and policies. This person provides training and support for VIRTUS® Facilitators in leading VIRTUS® Protecting God's Children for Adults workshops and support for internal and external users of the VIRTUS® database. This position is part time and will average 25 hours per week.Essential DutiesManage Safe Environment compliance for volunteersCoordinate with and support the Training and Compliance Coordinator:Serve as point of contact for volunteers for management of database systems (Virtus, Clear Star, etc.).Assist with conducting onsite and remote program audits.Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for Virtus facilitatorsServe as Master Facilitator for implementation of the Virtus® Protecting God's Children for Adults training program, completing certification within first 90 days of employment.Provide additional training in the protection of minors and vulnerable adults for volunteers as needs are identified.Collaborate with other dioceses related to account transfers, duplications, or other needs for volunteers.Assist OCYP Director with background check review for volunteers.Serve as SEC for the Independent Review Board.Collect compliance reports from parishes and schools and report data to OCYP Director for the USCCB Charter audit.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesLarge group presentation and facilitation skills experience.Communicate (verbal, written) in a clear and professional manner.Resolve complex compliance issues balancing policy mandates with diplomacy.Build collaborative relationships with internal and external clients, business partners and constituents.Demonstrate efficient and effective organizational and implementation skills.Work independently with confidence, and minimal managerial oversight.Manage projects on time and within budget parameters.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in closely related field required.Minimum of 3 years presentation and facilitation experience.VIRTUS® Facilitator certification or willing to complete within 90 days.Willingness to travel within the 27-county region of the Diocese.Intermediate skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.Note: All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person trainings prior to hire.
