Job Responsibilities

Develop and Execute Community Engagement Strategies:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive strategic marketing plans for community engagement.
  • Identify target audiences and tailor messaging to resonate with local residents as well as key employers with whom we are working or desire to work.
  • Leverage digital channels, community events, and partnerships to enhance brand visibility.
  • Monitor and adjust strategies based on community feedback and emerging trends.
Manage Sponsorships:
  • Research potential sponsorship opportunities and ensure they aligned with our mission and values.
  • Cultivate relationships with businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and tracksponsorship performance and report outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage Sponsorship Committee including development of agendas, meeting leadership and general communication with Committee members.
Plan and Coordinate Community Events:
  • Organize and oversee community events, including health fairs, fundraisers, events Riverview Health is sponsoring, and awareness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with event vendors, volunteers, and local organizations.
  • Develop content for event marketing materials, such as flyers, banners, and social media.
  • Determine how Riverview Health is represented at events specific to overarching organization and/or specific service lines and business units. Evaluate event success and gather insights for future improvements.
Support Riverview Health Foundation:
  • Support Foundation team members with tools to aid in engaging with donors, volunteers, and community members to foster lasting relationships.
  • Promote fundraising initiatives through targeted campaigns.
  • Communicate impact stories to demonstrate the Foundation's value.
  • Collaborate with the development team to align community engagement efforts with fundraising goals.
Analyze and Report on Effectiveness:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for community engagement.
  • Regularly assess the impact of programs, sponsorships, and events.
  • Prepare data-driven reports for leadership, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Use insights to refine strategies and optimize resource allocation.
Build and Maintain Relationships:
  • Attend local meetings, civic gatherings, and networking events.
  • Connect with community influencers, elected officials, and media representatives.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with other nonprofit organizations to amplify community impact.
Assists with a variety of other marketing and communications efforts including:
  • Internal Communications - assist in posting information for employee e-news and intranet articles, physician e-newsletter or mailed communications, and digital signage.
  • External Communications - supports media relations, public relations, content development for patient materials, brochures, publications, etc., procurement of printing or services to complete projects assigned.
Education Requirements
  • Minimum:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: Three (3) years of relevant experience in marketing strategy development, community engagement, sponsorships, and tactical execution of marketing plans/campaigns/events.
  • Preferred: Hospital and/or healthcare experience.
