Description

Karem Aircraft, Inc. is looking for a passionate electronics and instrumentation technician to assist with the design, build, integration, and operation of electronics and instrumentation systems. This work is in support of systems development for an advanced highly-efficient tiltrotor aircraft with applications in the defense industry and commercial transport. All subsystems are networked and electrically powered, providing challenges in communication, electrical power handling, redundancy, high-power servo development and control, and system integration.

This job will require travel to the Karem Aircraft Test Facility located at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, CA. Frequency of travel will be dependent on company objectives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of theory of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of aircraft and aircraft related electronics and subsystems. This may include:
    • Electronic actuation
    • Integrated avionics systems
    • Power generation and supply systems
    • Software
  • Knowledge and understanding theory of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various sensors and instrumentation systems. This may include:
    • Pressure, temperature, load, etc. measurement systems
  • Knowledge of basic electronics troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working within a team of engineers and technicians
  • Build, test, install, operate, maintain and repair electronics systems necessary for the development of key company technologies. This will include company developed electronic components, instrumentation and supporting equipment
  • Build, install, repair harnesses for electronics and avionics systems
  • Electronics board repair and re-work
  • Support off-site test events through the operation and maintenance of systems under test and test support systems (instrumentation generators, data-links, network, etc.)
  • Develop and periodically update documentation for electrical systems
  • Provide advice and expertise to engineering team for manufacturability, integration and operation of electrical systems
