Overview

This is a hybrid role in the Malvern, PA office.

CubeSmart is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team at its Malvern, PA headquarters. The Senior Corporate Accountant will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting and will have a thorough understand of generally accepted accounting principles as well as experience with SEC Filings.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting and/or experience working within the accounting function at a mid-sized publicly traded company. Additionally, this individual will have advanced problem-solving capabilities, demonstrate attention to detail, have strong interpersonal and communication skills and accept ownership for meeting deadlines.

  • Maintaining the corporate general ledger in accordance with US GAAP, which includes preparing/reviewing journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations;
  • Analyzing monthly/quarterly/annual financial results in advance of distribution to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Supporting the compilation and review of annual budget information;
  • Producing clear and organized workpapers that adequately support the Company's SEC filings and the internal/external audit process;
  • Assisting in the review of reports required to be filed with the SEC, including reports on Form 10-Q and 10-K and other filings from time to time;
  • Assisting with maintaining and documenting compliance with internal control over financial reporting in accordance with SOX 404 standards;
  • Evaluating accounting processes to identify opportunities for change and lead continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Interacting and coordinating with personnel throughout the Company;
  • Researching and documenting the analysis of new accounting and reporting requirements as needed;
  • Performing cross-functional projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in accounting;
  • 2+ years of public accounting and/or publicly traded company experience, real estate experience preferred;
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong technical accounting skills;
  • Ability to continuously exhibit attention to detail;
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills are essential;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and deadline driven environment;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
