This position will support related material handling within our Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility.? The Materials Technician II will perform activities related to material handling within the GMP facility.

This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, labeling, releasing, and storing materials according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations, current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP) regulations, and the standards from the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of material handling processes and be familiar with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Tissue Practices (cGTP) regulations. Join our team and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance in our GMP facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives, inspects, and reallocates incoming materials. Stocks materials in an organized fashion permitting easy retrieval and accurate inventory reconciliation.

  • Files or scans spec sheets, releases records, and certificates of analysis received with incoming supplies, components, and raw materials to permit traceability.

  • Stores materials according to material storage requirements. Ensures that all storage locations are properly labeled.

  • Fills material orders for production personnel following First-In, First-Out for issuance of controlled inventory. Weighs chemicals and issues supplies as needed for production activities.

  • Maintains accurate inventory records, ensuring that all inventory transactions are properly recorded on inventory control logs. Makes timely adjustments to account for inventory added or removed.

  • Responds to Lab watch alarms in the materials management department. Ensures that inventory is moved as needed to prevent exposing products to excursions in storage temperature. Updates inventory control logs after moving inventory to ensure accuracy.

  • Releases raw materials, supplies, and components in the Human Applications Laboratory.

  • Writes and revises release records for supplies, components, and raw materials. Writes and revises standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to materials management activities, following all formatting guidelines established by the document management team.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum Experience:

  • Two (2) years of Material Management experience is required.

  • Experience in a cGMP environment preferred

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $22.00 - $38.50 per hour for the role of Materials Technician II.
