THE JOB:

The Race & Sportsbook Clerk is focused on enhancing the guest experience by delivering exceptional customer service while assisting guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the globe. You will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING PAY RATE: $17.00 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Assist the supervisor with daily operations of the race and sports book during assigned shift to ensure company compliance with policies and procedures
  • Monitor all tickets written, cashed, voided and monies wagered during his/her shift
  • Assist the supervisor with verifying cash drawers, completing reports, rating casino customer activity, monitoring race and sports book for suspicious activity
  • Maintain and reconcile a cash bank; responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary.
  • Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs.
  • Handle writing/cashiering in accordance with department policy and procedures
  • Verify LED boards are correct and verify accuracy of guest informational sheets; provide guest informational sheets
  • Ensure the protection of customer's rewards and adherence to credit lines
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
  • Nevada State Gaming Registration
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Six (6) months of relevant cash-handling experience
  • Prior experience in the Race & Sportsbook department or related casino area
  • Previous guest services experience in a similar resort setting
  • Proficiency in fundamental mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and money handling
  • Proficient knowledge of reservation & computer software programs
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Capable of standing and walking for a majority of the shift
  • Able to effectively communicate in both English and Spanish, in both written and verbal forms
