RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Get creative with developing and sharing drawings, design docs, and reports across all sorts of markets.
  • Crunch numbers and make structural magic happen with steel, concrete, masonry, timber, aluminum, and even light-gauge steel.
  • Hang out with architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators, owners, and clients-everyone's invited
  • Go on-site for hands-on engineering assessments and keen field observations.
  • Play referee in the design vs. construction showdowns-construction admin style
  • Guide and cheer on our awesome junior and mid-level engineers as they grow and thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
  • 10-15 years of professional experience as an engineer with a focus on the design of structural infrastructure; Not looking for 20+ years of experience for this environment / requirements
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
Capability Areas
  • Advanced Structural Engineering: FEA, post-tensioning, progressive collapse, blast analysis/design
  • Understanding of other disciplines such as: architecture, site civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, fire protection, geotechnical, surveying, and environmental
  • Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
  • Sound communication skills
Regulation Knowledge
  • Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International Building Code (IBC)
  • Knowledge of processes of governing permitting agencies such as building departments and/or environmental agencies
Software Knowledge
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with RAM Elements, STAAD Pro, RISA-3D, Etabs, or similar analysis software
