Job ID ( 2400001Z )DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Proposal Specialist within the Global Parts and Service organization to develop complete quote proposals, specifically for General Boiler Parts and Pressure Parts, within the Global Parts & Services organization. The Proposal Specialist reports to the Product Support Manager and may also support requests from our Field Engineering Services, International Replacement Parts, and the Regional Project Manager groups. The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the development, research, cost/price development, and definition of scope for quote opportunities based on customer requests.This rolerequires interaction with customers through multiple communication interfaces including, email, phone, and/or customer specificmessage boards.ResponsibilitiesDetermine complete scope of customer request from both internal or external customersResearch original contracts, aftermarket contracts, engineering resources, and technical standards to determine the specifics of scope that should be offeredFormalize complete description for scope being offered and identify most effective manufacturing facilityDetermine total cost, price, and lead time for identified scope, which may be accomplished via resources available in supply chain management, transportation, graphics, engineering, estimating, pricing, and/or order management group or resources available within the Product Support groupFollow up with required groups and utilize routing system to track and expedite quote completionMaintain quote ownership and can work on multiple quotes simultaneously while managing workload priorityFinal review before quote is submitted to customerPrimary point of contact for follow up questions (including technical) from various internal and external customersQualificationsRequired Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience5+ years professional experience with an Associate Mechanical Engineering Technical degree or technical knowledge normally associated with an Associate Technical degree, including the ability to read drawings and bill of materialExperience with creating bills of material, red-lining drawings, and proposal developmentExcellent communication skills, technical reading & writing skillsAbility to exercise a moderate degree of independent judgment and problem solvingAs needed business travel and research requestsSelf-motivated, team oriented, and can think outside-the-boxPreferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and ExperienceKnowledge of PLM, Visibility, Data Warehouse, Oracle, RPQO, and Global Parts and Service internal processes.7+ years' experience, plus Tech Design experience with AutoCad, Solid Works, or another related CAD software (3D Modeling is a plus, but not required).Familiar with B&W Design and Technical Standards.Familiar with microfilm and researching historic documents.Technical knowledge of boilers, pulverizers, combustion equipment, environmental equipment, sootblowers andelectrostatic precipitators .Read the full posting.#J-18808-Ljbffr
