Community and Bereavement Liaison, Hospice

Job Summary:
This position will be working in coordinating and developing community outreach programs which promote and grow MWHC services and improve community health as part of MWHC Community Benefit strategy. Additionally, this position develops relationships with our community and other agencies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director of Marketing with development, implementation and evaluation of goals and objectives related to MWHC public relations and outreach strategies.
- Assists the Manager, Community Benefits with development, implementation and evaluation of goals and objectives of the MWHC Community Benefit Strategy.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with community groups and agencies.
- Identifies and/or recommends opportunities for new community or agency relationships.
- Provides leadership for the Community Advisory Council with administrative and consultative support for meetings and other activities of the Council.
- Represents the organization at community events and works with community representatives to provide organizational assistance to accomplish mutual community goals.
- Participates in and seeks out educational programs to increase professional competency and meet personal goals.
- Develop, maintain, and implement a robust Speaker's Bureau to assist in the organization's ability to "tell our story."
- Coordinate outreach activities in accordance of our MWHC Marketing and Communications department guidelines for community event participation and resource allocation.
- Along with the Manager, Community Benefits and other members of the Department, participate in the MWHC United Way Campaign by performing tasks to make the Campaign a success.
- Perform other duties as assigned which may include providing direct patient/community services, health education and screenings.
- BS degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Community Relations or related field is required.
- Three years public relations or community service experience required.
- One to three years hospital/health care related experience required.
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written).
