Team player Highly motivated The Product Engineering Director is a product engineering and business process role that interacts with diverse groups to further strengthen the partnership between the customer and PPG. The PED is a key member of the account team responsible for product engineering approvals, compliance, and implementing enhanced business process strategies. Lead and coordinate team of customer Engineers. Establish target list for approvals in coordination with strategic marketing, business development and account management. Review global approval list with counterparts in other regions and define approval activities with team. Key responsibilities: Leads all new technology and product approvals globally for projects within the business plan and in accordance with strategic marketing and (global) account management for defined OEM. Executes approval plan established in coordination between BDM / Strategic Marketing / Account Management Responsibility for approvals starting at OEM level down to n-Tier across complete product portfolio. Support other regions to obtain approval with local OEM. Leading defined national and international projects Pro-active provision of the necessary OEM information and requirements to the relevant departments and support in clarifying specific customer inquiries Develops and maintain customer intimacy at all levels of the customer’s central engineering organization, drives communication and innovation efforts. Manages product portfolio optimization. Consults with the customer and internally to align project specifications, manages product and solutions offering with a “One PPG” approach. Manages/supports customer communication in case of product changes, production relocation and other activities requiring product approvals. Support of activities regarding quality, claim management and corrective actions. Assists in problem solving efforts in case of product issues related to technology. Key KPI´s: Approvals reach based on target plan. Share gain projects. Project Performance Qualifications: Experience in Automotive or Chemical Industry. More than 10 years of experience Ability to work with multinational teams.
