Company is searching for a strong senior accountant that will help with month end close, account recs, bank account reconciliations, fixed assets, daily journal entries, etc.
Will start onsite, but after up and running, will have some flexible hybrid.
This Senior Accountant will be responsible for the performance of accounting functions related to daily/weekly/monthly transactions, reporting and reconciliations for multiple companies. Reporting to the Controller, this position will provide analysis and assist in evaluating financial opportunities by creating and reviewing operational and financial metrics as well as assisting in forecasting and budgeting. Background in ERP and report writing is helpful. Expectation would include the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of confidentiality and importance. The Company is growing, financially stable, and offers a very friendly work environment as well as a very generous benefits package.
Major Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules, for multiple companies, according to tight monthly close schedule
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure that they are recorded correctly on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Assist with preparation of corporate reporting requirements
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls and system processes
- Other projects as assigned
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of accounting theory (US GAAP, required)
- 7+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus but not required
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Able to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with a background in I.T. systems, functions and ERP reporting
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with employees, management and external agencies
