Description The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing engineering assignments and projects across Aurorium. The role involves the conceptual design, detailed engineering, budget development, design management, and implementation of multi-disciplined engineering projects. Role is responsible for managing complex projects from concept to start-ups initially focused at Aurorium's Pasadena, Texas facility. Project engineer will deliver successful projects assuring that manufacturing facilities are provided with safe, technically sound, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. Some travel between the Aurorium manufacturing sites will be required. Job Details Role Specific Responsibilities: Corporate engineering role with responsibility to lead assigned engineering projects through their full life cycle. This position will initially serve as an individual team member providing direct engineering management and expertise on large projects focused within Aurorium's Pasadena facility. Position will evolve into global project support and management with the successful completion of key projects at the Pasadena facility. Manages all aspects of a project from conceptual design to full implementation by assuming direct engineering control and accountability of design, construction, and commissioning. Fulfills the role of project manager through effective collaboration, communication, organization, and coordination of projects with key stakeholders. Ensures projects are implemented safely while achieving all targets. Leads development of realistic budgets and action plans that define the project tasks and schedule to achieve the project goals and expectations. Develops an understanding of equipment and chemical processes being modified, upgraded, or installed on each project. Develops an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements and engage appropriate internal and external subject matter experts to assure project implementation is delivered in accordance with all applicable codes. In addition to project engineering/management assignments, the candidate may support site management teams with engineering prioritization and problem-solving efforts to assist in corrective actions during manufacturing interruptions. The project engineer is expected to take responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business. Compliance: Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements. Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly. Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Problem Solving and Innovation: Active participation in continuous improvement activities. Participates in problem-solving. Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business. Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members. Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required. 10+ years of engineering experience within the chemical manufacturing industry. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of capital expansion projects within a chemical manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in budget and contractor management. Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and manufacturing processes within the chemical manufacturing industry. Exhibits a passion for continuous improvement, problem solving, and taking initiative. Demonstrated experience planning and working with multi-disciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective use of project management tools. Critical thinking and analytical skills that reinforce ability to identify opportunities and execute projects to plan. Flexibility to travel.
