Trailer Equipment / Trailer X-Press is looking for a parts counter & outside sales associate to join our friendly team. Your role in selling parts to all customers, whether over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone, should always be carried out in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Your friendly approach is what makes our customers feel welcome. Additionally, your efforts in soliciting parts of the business from assigned accounts through personal and telephone contacts should be done in a friendly and approachable manner.

Parts Counter Primary Duties:

Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the complete product line. Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. Review body shop estimates to ensure the ordered parts are correct and all pricing aligns with the estimate. Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers. Pulls and fills orders from stock. Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock or shop materials needing immediate attention. Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits an emergency order, if necessary. Notifies the service advisor and the customer when ordered parts are received. Notifies the body shop when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered. Pulls orders for delivery to a body shop, ensuring all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers. Follows up on back-ordered parts. Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns items to vendors or stock that are not picked up or required. Replenishes assigned inventory daily. Assists outside sales representatives with their orders. Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders. Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization. Ensures that the customer signs all charge sales. Ensures that all customers receive a copy of the invoice. Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available to verify purchase and pricing. Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians. Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts. Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up. Solicits assigned accounts by phone. Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. Cleans computer terminals and printers daily. Participates in all training programs that are made available. Keeps current on new products and product updates. Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program. Maintains professional appearance. Other tasks as assigned.

Parts Outside Sales Primary Duties:

Visits assigned customers. Prospects for new customers. Communicates parts orders to counter people. Advises whether status is stock or emergency. Check with customers to ensure that the delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable before ordering. Review any special orders with the parts manager and obtain their approval. Obtains parts manager's approval for any special pricing. Advises counterperson on delivery instructions. Follows up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly. Coordinates service sales with service salespeople. Turns in completed call reports, time sheets, and expense reports. Updates customer records to reflect changes to customers' names, addresses, etc. Adds new customers to appropriate mailing lists. Attends training seminars when possible. Acts as a public relations liaison for the dealership. Maintains professional appearance. Other tasks as assigned.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience, One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Customer Service Experience (Preferred)
