Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee the financial and corporate operations of Orchard Place and the Orchard Place Foundation. This role involves supervising the accounting, information technology, and environmental services departments, and ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization. The CFO will also play a key role in strategic planning and board activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Uphold the philosophy, values, commitments, and practices of our trauma-informed and trauma-responsive culture model in daily interactions with clients, families, and staff.* Foster a culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion.* Supervise and evaluate staff within accounting, information technology, environmental services, and executive/accounting assistant functions.* Maintain in-depth knowledge of Orchard Place operations and respond to financial needs of leadership and staff.* Participate in board activities and lead the board finance committee as directed by the CEO.* Manage financial and accounting systems, ensuring timely completion of monthly and annual financial statements, as well as operating and capital budgets.* Lead the annual financial statement audit and collaborate with external auditors to prepare the Form 990.* Manage the organization's insurance needs, including health and related benefits, property and liability, workers compensation, and professional liability.* Oversee contract renewals and seek legal advice as necessary.* Participate in the development, implementation, and coordination of the organization's strategic plan.* Manage financial records of the Orchard Place Foundation and coordinate fundraising priorities with the VP of Development and Marketing.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.* Minimum of ten years of experience, including five years in management and supervisory roles.* Experience with nonprofits and/or healthcare institutions is required.* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.* Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and problem-solving.* Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements and contracts.* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact effectively with a wide range of individuals.* Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.* CPA license is highly preferred.
