Administrative Assistant Position Number: HR3020 Department: Interdisciplinary Schools Location: Norfolk, VA Type of Position: Hourly Type of Job: Hourly/Wage EEO Category: F Administrative Support (Clerical & Sales) Job Description: To support the Interdisciplinary Schools with administrative tasks with a focus on the School of Data Science. Type of Recruitment: Knowledge, skills and abilities Abilities to record notes, communicate via email, phone, and in person, professionalism and customer service skills, and introductory knowledge of administrative functions in a higher education setting. Special Licenses, Registration or Certification: None Education or Training: None Level and Type of Experience: Some customer service experience. Some experience with Microsoft and Windows-based programs such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Adobe. Basic experience with office equipment such as printer, copier, and phones. Basic experience in an administrative support role. Additional Considerations: None Conditions of Employment: Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement or leave. This position is Monday through Friday with part-time hours between 8a and 5p. Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $15.49/hr.
