Responsibilities

This position is responsible to coordinate all services, including but not limited to transaortic valve replacement (TAVR), trans mitral valve procedures, left atrial appendage closure, and future emerging structural heart technologies that are required to provide multidisciplinary, quality assured, and cost-effective care to patients referred to the Structural Heart Clinic.

Oversight of the functions and duties of this role will be provided by the Medical Directors for the Structural Heart Program, Drs Nicholas Hanna and Thomas Kalapura.

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with Oklahoma is required.

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant is required

  • Two years of specialty experience in cardiovascular care is required.

  • Effective communication skills as well as expert clinical assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills are required.

  • Interest in leadership and passion for interdisciplinary care is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Required Credential(s):

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Licensed Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.


Preferred Credential(s):

Advanced Life Support.
Orthopedic Physician Assistant.

Education:

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

1 year of experience preferred.
