Under the direction of the Director and Team Leader the registered nurse will assess, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice. Job duties will include the following:
- Prepare patient, family member and/or significant other for procedure by educating on preoperative requirements, confirms planned procedure and answers questions
- Admit patient to the preoperative area, assesses patient and prepares the patient for surgery and/or planned procedure
- Receive and monitor patient's condition post procedure
- Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence from anesthesia
- Educate patients, family member and/or significant other by instructing them about procedure, medications, physician's discharge orders and their continued care after discharge
- Other duties as assigned
This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per pay period). Eight-hour shifts with start times between 5:30 - 11:00 am. No nights, call, weekends, or holidays expected.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates OR Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Two years of nursing experience in recovery room and/or related field such as ICU
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification preferred
