Senior Product EngineerHeadquartered in Newark, NJ - Telecommute PositionDESCRIPTION: Manage the technical relationship with 3rd party vendors and factories to support development of Toughbook products, accessories to Toughbook products and 3rd party partners’ products and accessories. These solutions can range from vehicle dock development to software development. Design reviews and weekly meetings will be conducted for each project producing test reports, test plans and schedule updates. Maintain knowledge of the Toughbook product line, the technologies used in these devices and our 3rd party products to support the development of these projects. Involved in the development process of company and 3rd party partners and navigate both processes in depth. Mitigate the risk of safety, compliance, and quality issues on the products produced through the process to provide our customers with high quality solutions. Manage product development and evaluations. Communicate MSBD for specification and project updates. Provide technical support to Sales Engineers and Product Management. Manage evaluations of Toughbook products to reduce the risk of quality issues. Create formal test reports for product evaluations. Communicate with internal teams on evaluations and project updates. Provide recommendations for improvements to products during design review. Manage accessory and option development projects from partners and 3rd party vendors. Communicate with vendors and partners for specification and project updates. Manage evaluations of accessories and options for Toughbook products to assure Panasonic’s quality standards are upheld. Create formal test reports for product evaluations and communicate with internal teams on evaluations and project updates. Provide recommendations for improvements to products during design review. Maintain project documentation and project templates.REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related degree concentration and three (3) years of related experience OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS THE EMPLOYER IS WILLING TO ACCEPT Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related degree concentration followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in the specialty field.Mail resumes to: Panasonic Corporation of North America, Attn: A.
