IT Operations Manager

About the role:
You will be working in our

Austin, TX

location responsible for overseeing management and implementation of Capitol Services network infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical support services to internal employees, and supporting ongoing cybersecurity efforts, as well as supervising and managing workflow of an assigned team. This role involves working full time, Monday through Friday.
What you will do:
Lead daily management and administration of the help desk team, and third-party service providers to ensure timely, efficient, and effective operation
Effectively manage team employees through adherence to Capitol Services policies and practices
Manage the escalation process, problems, and outages within the IT help desk framework
Develop and implement help desk policies, procedures, and best practices to improve service delivery and end user satisfaction
Maintain accountability by ensuring tickets are completed within help desk
Manage network infrastructure and ensure growing user demands are met while maintaining performance and reliability
Manage data security, disaster recovery, firewall and web security, and change control management of internal IT systems
Enforce security policies and procedures, monitor for incidents, conduct assessments to mitigate risks, identify security weaknesses, and develop remediation strategies
Manage and coordinate upgrades, installations, and system configurations of network systems as needed
Direct team to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network systems and providing leadership with performance and project reports
Develop network strategies that align with business objectives
Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to resolve escalated issues and ensure seamless service delivery
Who you are:
Experienced in IT support and management:

You have a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience. You have 5+ years of experience in IT support roles and 2+ years of experience managing a help desk support and network team. You have extensive knowledge of desktop hardware, software, and help desk functions, polices, and procedures. You have knowledge of security best practices to ensure protection again potential threats such as viruses, malware, and spam. You have an understanding of ITIL principles and help desk best practices.
Technical competencies:

You have knowledge of help desk ticketing systems, remote support tools, and Active Directory. You are proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Leadership skills:

You are an exceptional and dependable team player that cultivates a collaborative team environment. You exhibit a sensitivity to personnel management and confidentiality. You are able to analyze and evaluate personnel performance related to growth and development, as well as necessitated disciplinary actions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills:

You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects / assignments. You have strong attention to detail and exhibit a reasonable sense of urgency.
Excellent communication skills:

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You communicate in both a professional and friendly manner with coworkers and others.
Adaptable:

You are eager to use new tools and learn new processes and technologies. You can adapt to changing priorities while working in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. You have effective problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise.

You have the ability to retain and implement instruction and training. You are open to learn and navigate our current processes and systems. You are not afraid to ask questions.

You demonstrate a positive attitude. You are courteous and polite, especially when navigating through difficult conversations, problems, or complaints that may arise.

You are able to work during our regular business hours at your assigned location. You are a punctual individual and able to follow an assigned work schedule. You are able to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Office environment:

You are able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and lift and transport thirty-five (35) pounds.
