Director of clinical programs position

Major Objectives

The primary responsibility of the Director of Clinical Programs is to oversee all aspects of the NCA Clinical Program, which provides trauma-focused therapy and intervention to children who have been sexually and/or severely physically abused, witnessed domestic violence or witnessed a violent crime, and their non-offending caregivers.

The Director of Clinical Programs is a key member of NCAs leadership team. The Director of Clinical Programs oversees the clinical team including the grants that support the clinical department of the Nashville Childrens Alliance.

Nashville Childrens Alliance is seeking a dynamic Director of Clinical Programs to oversee all aspects of the NCA Clinical Program, which provides trauma-focused therapy to children who have been sexually and/or severely physically abused, witnessed domestic violence or witnessed a violent crime and their non-offending caregivers. The Director of Clinical Programs is a key member of NCAs leadership team and will inspire and lead the clinical team to excellence.

Qualifications

Masters level degree in social work, counseling, or in a clinically-based program in a field related to the above.
Clinical licensure in a mental health field with no less than 3 years post licensure experience.
Supervisory and Management experience required.
Certification (or eligibility to be certified) to provide licensure supervision.
Experience managing administrative functions and grants preferred.
Experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma (including but not limited to child sexual abuse).
Experience planning and facilitating groups for child and adults, preferably in attachment and trauma.
Experience in legal and court process and procedure preferred.

Special Knowledge And Abilities

Extensive knowledge of the impact of traumatic experiences on youth.
Documentation of training of evidenced based treatment modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy, and/or Play Therapy.
Registered Play Therapist desirable.
Experience with Somatic Therapy desirable.
Art therapy, Sand Tray therapy and/or Theraplay training desirable.
Training and experience with family based/ attachment therapies desirable.
Grant-writing and budgeting experience preferred.
Experience engaging with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Hire, train and provide weekly supervision of clinical therapists.
Supervise or oversee supervision of masters level counseling interns, and volunteers and/or oversee clinical therapists who supervise interns.
Supervise or oversee supervision of the court education program and/or oversee clinical staff who provide court education program.
Provide performance evaluations and feedback to clinical staff.
Act as neutral liaison between partners on the Child Protection Intervention Team.
Provide weekly individual therapy sessions (as appropriate) to children, siblings and families of children dealing with traumatic stress symptoms using evidenced based/evidenced informed Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Provide skill building and psycho-education to non-offending parents in conjunction with their childrens therapy.
Develop and oversee accurate record keeping by therapists to meet professional, ethical, and grant-related requirements.
Develop and monitor appropriate processes and procedures for the agency to contribute to a Trauma Informed Environment.
Accumulate data for the purposes of writing grants to fulfill unmet needs of the NCAs clientele.
Conceptualize and write grants pertaining to the Clinical Program.
Aggregate and maintain data for grant reports, board reports and the growth of the agency
Attend grant-related trainings as necessary.
Oversee the maintenance of the client referral list and the timely assignment of clients for therapy.
Facilitate weekly clinical meetings regarding administrative matters and review of client cases.
Attend or oversee therapists who attend Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) meetings.
Act as liaison between therapists and NCA attorney regarding court-related matters.
Maintain memberships in professional organizations.
Attend regular clinical trainings provided within the professional community.
Provide (or oversee therapists who provide) trainings within the community regarding trauma-focused therapies, child sexual abuse or to provide information about the NCA Clinical Program.
Actively participate in marketing the NCAs services and programs to the community when appropriate.
Actively participate in board meetings and subcommittees.
Participate and collaborate within the management team.
Collaborate and participate in multidisciplinary meetings within the Family Safety Center.
Other responsibilities as determined by the CEO and/or Director of Clinical Programs.

On The Job Supervision

Attend supervision with Chief Executive Officer
Attend and facilitate weekly clinical supervisions and clinical meetings with NCA Clinical Staff
