Primary Functions and Responsibilities
- Reads shipping orders to determine items to be gathered, staged and assembled.
- Conveys materials from receiving area to production or storage.
- Sorts, places items on storage racks.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Operates forklift, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pump jacks, hand trucks, or dolly to convey items; drives box trucks.
- Safely loads and unloads trucks (after successfully passing forklift training and test).
- Manage phase in/out of materials to minimize risk of obsolete stock.
- Maintain cycle counts and reconcile results to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory count team as assigned.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
- Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages.
- Assist & evaluates needs with shipping points, services, weights & freight permits and other information needs.
- Receive inventory: Verify product and quantity received is accurate.
- Process in-bound and out-bound shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received.
- Prepare shipping documents.
- Verify returns from customers.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
- Completing daily shift duties.
- Maintaining cleanliness of dock and receiving area.
- Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
- Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
- Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
- Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand and/or be mobile for the majority of the shift
- Efficient use of computer.
- Communicate effectively over the telephone.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
- Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
- Willingness to work overtime, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and back ground check.
- Must have a valid driver's license
