Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Brook & Whittle. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret shipping orders to determine items to be gathered, staged, and assembled.
  • Convey materials from the receiving area to production or storage using various equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Sort and place items on storage racks, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received, including verifying product and quantity received.
  • Process in-bound and out-bound shipments, including preparing shipping documents and verifying returns from customers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
  • Perform daily shift duties, including maintaining the cleanliness of the dock and receiving area.
  • Assist in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
  • Comply with established safety procedures and policies, and work with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds continuously, and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand and/or be mobile for the majority of the shift.
  • Efficient use of computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate over the telephone.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent, quality-driven work habits.
  • Willingness to work overtime, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
