FABRICATION OPERATOR ($18.25- $22.25/hr)WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:We are currently searching for a fabrication operator to be based in Weatherford, TX. Reporting to the Shift Lead, the Fabrication Operator will run various machines and saws in the area. The primary role is to use the machines to bend pipe by loading pipe into the machine and/or connecting pipe to the bender part of the machine. It is the operator's job to keep an eye on specs and quality of the product.WHAT YOU WILL DO:The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Fabrication Operator or equivalent position at Atkore International and experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company.WHAT YOU WILL BRING:Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Runs various saws and machines in FabricationHelp load pipe into machineStack finished product on pallets according to packaging standardBand up pallet when completeCheck angle of pipe on angle tableCut boards to size for pipe packagingHas knowledge on safety procedures for each machine, E-Stops, pinch points, etc.Informs Shift Lead for any possible safety infractionsInforms forklift personnel or Shift Lead when running low on Fab Stock to be cutMust check cut length frequently for any deviation in cut length specsHousekeeping a must throughout the shiftQualificationsMinimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalentExcellent interpersonal and communications skillsGood understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculationsAttention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organizationMust be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical mannerMust be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environmentAll associates must embrace and foster and environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability.WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:Complete your Atkore immersion program.Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.Gain an understanding of your team.Identify work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflowPerform daily Cycle Counts of Finished Goods InventoryIssue written and oral instruction to provide clear expectations5s of Shipping areas: Audit work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and proceduresStudy and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workersCreate a team environmentMonitor productivity and assist workers with productivity problemsReview pipe orders to determine truckload space/percentage and if a fill is neededAtkore, a recent recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification, is currently searching for a Fabrication Operator to be based out of Weatherford, TX.
