FABRICATION OPERATOR ($18.25- $22.25/hr)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are in search of a dedicated Fabrication Operator to join our team. This role involves operating various machinery and saws, focusing on the bending of pipes. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading pipes into machines and ensuring the quality and specifications of the finished products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The ideal applicant will possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a Fabrication Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate various saws and machines within the fabrication area.
  • Assist in loading pipes into the bending machines.
  • Organize and stack finished products on pallets according to established packaging standards.
  • Secure completed pallets with banding.
  • Verify the angle of pipes using the angle table.
  • Cut boards to specified sizes for packaging purposes.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety protocols for all machinery, including emergency stops and pinch points.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Shift Lead promptly.
  • Notify forklift operators or the Shift Lead when fabrication stock is low.
  • Regularly check cut lengths for compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for accurate counting and calculations.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:
  • Complete the Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your role contributes to Atkore's strategic goals.
  • Familiarize yourself with your team dynamics.
  • Identify and standardize work procedures to enhance workflow.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts of finished goods inventory.
  • Provide clear instructions to ensure expectations are met.
  • Audit shipping areas for accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Develop a collaborative team environment.
  • Monitor productivity and assist team members with any challenges.
  • Review orders to optimize loading and space utilization.
