Project Support Specialist (Graphic Artist)

to support a NASA contract in

Greenbelt, MD.

Job Description:

Provide Graphic Artist support to the Office of the Director and New Opportunities Office Proposal Development group. Developing graphics and identity branding for competitive scientific proposals through communication, publishing, and electronic means.

Responsibilities:

As a Graphic Artist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of activities in relation to the creation and maintenance of Proposal Development Group information management systems to facilitate the flow of information, management of proposal development processes, and the production of proposals. The New Opportunities Office will provide the contractor with proposal priorities. Due to the nature of the work performed and unforeseen changes in the proposal cycle, workload will fluctuate depending on the volume of proposals and their schedules.

Utilizing high-end desktop publishing software and hardware systems, design, edit, review, and proofread graphic components for proposals (including but not limited to graphic illustrations, fact sheets, foldouts, posters, brochures, color palettes and identity branding) in response to competitive Announcements of Opportunity.
Revise existing graphics to ensure compliance with all standards and parameters described in proposal documentation and NOO graphics standards.
Provide consultation to team members on the most efficient and effective methods for communicating scientific and technical information.
Anticipate customer needs, and prepare recommendations and specifications for layout, typography, and design.
Analyze and evaluate program needs to advise management of steps needed to maintain cutting edge systems; judge the potential application of new communication technologies to the proposal production process, and design processes to efficiently integrate the use of such technologies; and research, analyze, and implement work process changes to maximize productivity.
Coordinate among the team members from Goddard, industry, academia, and international organizations, and participate in planning and review meetings.
Oversee configuration management of information and data associated with proposal development throughout the proposal production life cycle.
Review lessons learned following proposal cycles to assist in process improvement.
Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Expertknowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) and of Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint).
Outstanding, proactive, customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability toanticipate customer needs.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task with various projects.
Ability to learn quickly and think critically to create innovative solutions for customer and employee needs.
Strong knowledge of Office 365 suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Outstanding proactive customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs by recognizing areas of opportunity and quickly providing solutions.
Individuals must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience or 15+ years of related experience in lieu of degree.
