Ensure production machines continue operating at peak capacity.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: May require in-press die repair and troubleshooting on progressive, transfer or other die set design Diagnoses and remedies trouble on all machine tooling. Dismantles machine tooling and replaces worn or defective parts. Makes fixtures for machines where parts are not standard Sets up, adjusts, and operates all machine tools and equipment necessary to make, alter or repair a wide variety of complicated tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, molds and gauges and performs required bench operations such as die assembling, laying out, fitting, adjusting, welding and assemblingJob Duties: Lays out work from samples, blueprints, or sketches. Tool Makers select machines and make determinations about operation sequences. They make set-ups and selects tooling, speeds, and feeds and performs required machine and bench operation. May perform other duties from time to time of assisting maintenance in machine repair work. Assists and instructs others. Maintains good housekeeping practices in working area Other duties may include limited guidance duties (i.e., answering phone, redirecting employee questions, etc.) in the absence of a supervisor Other duties as assignedKnowledge & Skills: Must have a strong work ethic Must be well organized and a self-starter Must be able to follow detailed instructions Must have the ability to identify and solve problems and make logical decisions Must be able to work with precision and a high level of accuracy Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and able to focus on task at hand Possess strong time management skills Ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools Ability to use hand or power tools Ability to weld metal parts, components or structures; able to use TIG welding equipment Ability to fabricate, assemble or disassemble manufactured products by hand Ability to understand technical operating, service or repair manuals Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings Working knowledge of gages such as dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner Ability to speak and write English fluently Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately Requires a thorough knowledge of shop math Must be thoroughly experienced in the construction, alteration or repair of all tools, dies, fixtures, and gaugesAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
