Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of service applications.
  • Design and implement embedded solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Lead a team of embedded developers and analysts through developing a new product.
  • Work with the existing teams to provide leadership, development expertise, and support to existing activities.
  • Lead development responsibilities for ongoing activities based on team capacity and need.
  • Help existing teams address technical debt.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of build pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Contribute to the planning of the remaining work for the year.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 5 years of software engineer experience

OR

  • Masters degree
  • At least 3 years of software engineer experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of software engineer experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills:
  • Deep understanding of the Java programming language.
  • Experience with automotive solutions and the automotive industry, preferably with service.
  • Experience with the J1939 vehicle communication protocol, including the ability to capture and read vehicle CAN logs.
  • Experience working with agile development teams and methods.
  • Ability to design and implement embedded solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Ability to lead a team of embedded developers and analysts through developing a new product.
  • Strong organizational and communicaiton skills with the ability to present to and along side non-technical leaders.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, and a creative and agile mindset.
