This person will be joining the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences for a large research institution as a Sr. Financial Analyst 5. In this role they will be responsible for providing support to the department with financial reporting, modeling, variance analysis and supporting various ad hoc requests as needed. They will also serve as a primary point of contact to mentor and support the junior members of the team.

Responsibilities:

Provide high level portfolio management for 5 PI's and managing their grants portfolios

Larger project support- compiling annual research data for the department, research funding data based on faculty, project focus, funding agency etc. Pulling this data from various sources and compiling in into one report to present to high level leadership(Vice Chair of Research, Deputy Vice Chair of Research)

Financial portfolio analysis- pull data from MyReports & PLUS systems, incorporate various data sets as needed to create standardized Budget Status Reports(BSRs)

Prepare Analysis for year end financial reporting for internal and external reporting

Complete continuation reporting financial analysis for annualized effort

UCPath payroll funding and reconciliations

Funding analysis for all faculty renewals

PLUS system data entry for year end consolidated budget

Heavy excel report development, management, update from various UCSF system platforms, in support of Clinical revenue operations

Projections and true up of monthly financial cost and revenue data

Modeling of financial structural change methods; actual cost data and future revenue projections.

Processing of various financial transactional tools: funding and cost transfer in UCPath, journals to allocate revenue, assign assessments, move revenue/expense; review and process reimbursements or purchase requests related to Clinical funding operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

7+ years of FP&A experience, managing or supervising 3-direct reports (required)

Must have prior experience supporting an Academic Research Institution

Managing Grant Portfolios and Budgets (required)

Career growth and progression- ability to move up

Demonstrated ability to support complex financial projects and meet strict deadlines

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Advanced MS Excel (pivot table/v-lookup)

Strong knowledge and proficiency using financial budgeting and reporting tools (PowerBI, Anaplan, Python, SQL, Tableau, Adaptive Planning, etc).

Hybrid Work Schedule- 2 days onsite in San Francisco, CA.
