Join our team in Totowa, NJ as a full-time HR Assistant in a 6+ month contract with potential for permanency This role supports day-to-day HR activities, assisting with employee relations, training, compliance, and more. Ideal for a detail-oriented professional fluent in Spanish and English. Responsibilities include maintaining HR files, handling employee inquiries, conducting new hire orientations, supporting recruitment activities, and acting as a liaison between employees and benefits/payroll.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Experience in HR preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS (ADP) systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid communication skills; Spanish fluency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tracking FMLA, Work Comp, work visas, etc.
  • Point of contact and assists union employees during benefit open enrollment and new hire benefit enrollment.
  • Conducts weekly safety observations and have open communication with employees to keep them highly engaged.
  • Coordinates with HR Administrator in other locations to support and be a backup for all sites as needed for employee on-boarding.
  • Leads internship program for Totowa site. Coordinates presentations with other sites.
  • Facilitates communication, interpret, and translate spoken or written information from one language to another (Spanish/English preferred).
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.


The essential functions of this role include:
working up to 3 hrs of overtime per week
