Summary: The Engineering Manager will be managing a global team of engineers and technicians, as well as overseeing and reporting on the management of asset reliability risks, and production and high-maintenance cost asset losses. This role will oversee creation of accelerated life test fixtures located in Tualatin and at Powin’s other global locations. The Engineering Manager will be involved in creating, reviewing and presenting test plans and reports to internal and/or external stakeholders as well as collaborating with Service, Repair, and Manufacturing groups to establish data reporting that supports reliability and failure rate analyses. Job Details: Oversee development of reliability models and failure risk analysis associated with energy storage systems and their sub components Develop and manage component, subassembly/subsystem/system, qualifications, FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis), and life test programs Drive DFR (design for reliability) initiatives with design teams across the engineering organization Collaborate with Hardware Test Engineers to qualify products and provide key reliability metrics during initial development and in post-development stages Drive Powin’s reliability initiatives and provide support to hardware design teams, manufacturing, QC, analytics, and other stakeholders on issues relating to reliability analysis, data, and reporting Support design validation processes and reporting for hardware test and resolve issues related to hardware product failures by conduction root cause analysis and writing 8D failure analysis reports Collaborate with the analytics team to create reliability databases, KPIs, and tools that improve the scalability and visibility of reliability programs across the company Support design and debug hardware for reliability qualification and evaluation. Oversee a team of reliability engineers and develop structured internal processes for managing reliability activity and team goals Contribute to the product development/NPI process to ensure reliability concerns are addressed through testing, validation, and the use of data Manage test programs by defining and maintaining clear project timelines, identifying and mitigating project risks, and communication plans to key stakeholders Issue product qualification and evaluation project summaries Conduct periodic and scheduled reviews of systems and applications to discover inefficiencies, and prepare a plan to remediate or mitigate them Measure, optimize, and report on application service performance and availability Manage development of reliability test profiles including environment test, HALT, HASS, ALT, and other test methodologies for the analysis of hardware components and sub-assemblies Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or other related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years’ experience in Reliability Engineering Demonstrated 2+ years experience managing engineering and technician teams Experience in the renewable energy industry is preferred Experience working in manufacturing and/or service environments Experience working with international teams and contract manufacturers Understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Accelerated testing concepts Demonstrated successful experience working with and leading at multiple levels within an organization Ability to maximize productivity in a reliability environment in a constantly changing environment of shifting priorities Ability to work cross functionally, explain designs and concepts to others with different backgrounds/degrees Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills and can work independently and manage the workload of multiple projects and tasks Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams Limited travel requirements Powin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time.
