The Project Accountant will be an integral member of the Willdan Financial regional offices focused on tracking and reporting incurred and committed costs, aiding in revenue recognition and forecasting future results for multiple contracts and projects in the West Coast region, and serving as liaison between the regional offices and the Willdan Corporate Accounting Department. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is strongly preferred. 3-5 years of Accounting experience. Understanding of different contract types - Time & Materials, Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, etc. GAAP and SOX experience desired. Proficient in MS Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or other project (cost) accounting system preferred. Knowledgeable about project accounting and revenue recognition issues for consulting oriented businesses. Detail-oriented with excellent multi-tasking skills. Highly articulate with excellent communication skills and strong customer service skills. Works well in a team environment as well as independently. Valid CA driver license required for travel between offices. Responsibilities: Ensuring timely and accurate recording of time and expenses, including subcontractor and supplier invoices, to jobs and job phases. Performing month end expense accruals for incurred costs. Ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders and subcontracts to subsequent invoices. Ensuring timely and accurate billing to customers and assisting in collection efforts. Reviewing revenue recognition calculations and ensuring their timely submission to corporate accounting. Reviewing and creating new projects in the system in compliance with revenue recognition standards and contract language. Prepare monthly reports on job performance and reconcile variances between project tracking systems, corporate and project records. Relay headquarter accounting processes to region’s operation teams. Perform expense allocation verification, accruals and journal entries. Assists in monthly revenue recognition, billing, financial closing. Assists with quarterly review and annual audit. Support regional financial forecast efforts and assists with other projects, as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
