Job Title: Credit Manager

Job Description

As a Credit Manager, you will manage and authorize credit lines, handle collections calls, process all phases of customer service regarding outstanding receivables, and manage deductions, chargebacks, and returns. You will post cash, enter customer information into databases, handle internal emails and calls, and generate monthly and quarterly usage reports for billing purposes. Additionally, you will take incoming customer calls to process orders, answer product knowledge questions, resolve customer issues and inquiries, and accommodate customer requests. You will also utilize order tracking to process orders, record prices, track delivery dates, monitor inventory status, and maintain customer information.

This role position reports to the Vice President of Credit and Collections and includes the following responsibilities:

Credit/Collection Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

o Requests and pursues payment on delinquent accounts via communication with account holder.

o Follows established guidelines to review and update account status.

o Maintains logs of payment promises and pertinent account details as well as schedules follow-up communication with account holder.

o Processes credit applications and collects further information as needed.

o Reviews credit references by independently validating references provided by the applicant or by using a

credit reporting service.

o Prepares recommendations for increasing or decreasing credit limits based on account holders payment history.

o Determines, based on established credit guidelines, the credit limit to be approved.

o Consults with credit manager or other appropriate personnel when client credit requests exceed established

guidelines.

Returns Responsibilities - support role includes:

o Generate daily Customer Service reports to track inventory return issues that require further investigation

o Credit customers accounts for defective, damaged, or missing merchandise and expedite replacement orders

o Work closely with warehouse management staff to research customer shortage claims

o Process credit claims for shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, etc.) regarding damaged and missing merchandise

o Take ownership of all processes and manage projects and customer issues through to final resolution

o Receive cross training and act as a backup to other positions within the Credit and Customer Service Departments to provide support as needed

A/R Responsibilities support role for posting customer payments.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum education of a Bachelors Degree

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in both credit and collections (business to business)

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Organized and detail oriented

Strong time management and follow-up skills

Creative problem solving skills to analyze and resolve issues

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs

Customer focused attitude

Team player

Fast learner

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Holtsville, New York.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside multiple customer service representatives. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
