Manufacturing Engineer

Position Description:
Vehicle Operations - Manufacturing Engineering working within the Electrical Quality group. Focusing on current model quality, new programs and future development. Position will have high visibility with management due to the company's key focus on quality. Working with North American assembly plants to improve internal and external data for quality data.
Skills Required:
Deliver Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA) requirements for your specific Subsystem (Electrical, Powertrain, Suspension, Exterior, Interior).
Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
Perform DPA5 feasibility analysis on upfront vehicle platform.
Implement and deliver new products that meet Global Manufacturing Requirements (GMRs).
Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all DPA5 issues for your specific Subsystem.
Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.
Incorporate standard tooling and facilities (Standard Cells, Standard Bill of Process) for your specific subsystem.
Review and update new product feature SCCAF documentation to ensure adequate controls are implemented to prevent assembly quality issues.
Perform PFMEA and failure mode avoidance analysis for critical new content.
Provide accurate costs via cost studies at PS, PSC and PA milestones for the implementation of new tooling and facilities to support new component content.
Perform P-Release validation for your specific subsystem components prior to handoff.
Support UP/UN tooling group through development of Scope of Work and Purchase Orders for new content.
Develop "Lessons Learned" from DPA5 process and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into current/future Global Manufacturing Requirements (GMR).
Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.
Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs).
Skills Preferred :
Six Sigma - Green or Black Belt.
Experience Required:
5+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering and automotive assembly tooling, processes, and facilities.
Knowledge in the following software systems: FEDEBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, AIM, CPARS
Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)
Experience Preferred:
Root Cause analysis, PFMEAs
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to support launch programs on extended travel.
Strong Project Management skills and result oriented Mindset.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent)
Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles
Understanding of special characteristics and SCCAF principles
Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
Ability to operate in stressful situations within time constraints.
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
