HR Manager

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a vital role in our organization, supporting our mission by ensuring our legal professionals are well-equipped and engaged to deliver outstanding legal services. You will work closely with management and employees to foster a positive work environment, handle HR administrative tasks, and contribute to the overall growth and development of the firm.
Note: this is an in-office position
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
Conduct or acquire background checks, employee testing, and employee eligibility verifications.
Launch new employee paperwork from Paylocity, ensuring timely completion and verification of critical employee documentation so that the employee is ready in the pay system on day one.
Manage employee paperwork and documentation in both Box and Paylocity.
Record and maintain pay increases, including any interim year new pay grades or bonuses.
Assist with onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the firm.
Employee Relations:
Act as a trusted advisor to employees, guiding HR policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
Implement a positive workplace culture, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Monitor and assess employee morale and job satisfaction and develop strategies to enhance engagement.
Attendance and participation in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, exit interviews, and investigations.
Assist with office/employee events.
HR/Benefits Administration:
Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with legal requirements in Paylocity and Salesforce.
Manage benefits administration, including health, retirement, and other employee programs.
Manage and provide a smooth yearly benefits process during the open enrollment.
Assist with quarterly Attorney and Paralegal bonus preparation.
Monitor and update the Employee Handbook.
Maintain and ensure the update of Labor Law posters at all office locations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
Utilize HR analytics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Prepare regular reports for management on key HR metrics and trends.
Training and Development:
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Encourage professional development and growth within the firm by working with department leaders to identify, develop, and implement goal-oriented training and retention programs.
Compliance and Policy Development:
Stay current with HR laws and regulations, ensuring firm-wide compliance.
Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, office postings, and employee handbooks.
Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications:
Three to five years of Humana Resources experience is required.
Experience with Paylocity and Salesforce is a plus.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
