A little bit about the role…

As Continental Underwriters continues to expand, we are looking to add a Risk Assessment Representative to our growing Risk Assessment Team. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well autonomously, thrives on curiosity and collaboration, and is dedicated to the success of the entire team. As our Risk Assessment Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a consultative approach to risk assessment, ensuring comprehensive understanding and tailored strategies.
  • Conducting thorough Risk Assessment visits for forest products insureds in designated territories.
  • Compiling detailed reports and recommendations following each assessment.
  • Collaborating closely with the Underwriting Team to optimize decision making processes.
  • Leveraging expertise to analyze operations, pinpoint risks, and formulate effective solutions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform risk mitigation strategies and decision making.
  • Demonstrating eagerness to learn, curiosity, and consultative skills.
  • Embracing constructive criticism and utilizing it for personal and professional growth.

  • You are able to be on-site at our Richmond location and are willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • You think critically and have excellent problem solving skills (bonus points for ASP/CSP/CFPS certifications and/or previous experience in insurance or risk assessment).

  • You work with a sense of urgency, never miss deadlines, and thrive at time management.
