GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for purchasing supplies, equipment, and services following College policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations. Administers and maintains College competitive bidding processes and contracts for all items, except construction needs. Supervises the Printing and Duplicating Technician. Reports to the Director for Financial Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree.
• Three (3) years of purchasing experience.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing techniques and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of desktop software applications specifically MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong organization, customer service, and telephone etiquette skills.
• Ability to make cost comparisons and perform mathematical computations to analyze and reconcile accounts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong grammar/spelling knowledge.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of purchasing techniques and best practices in higher education
• 3-5 years of experience with Purchasing cooperatives and consortiums
• Professional Purchasing Certifications (CPM, SPSM, or similar)
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Valid Arizona driver’s license and OSHA forklift certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
