The Grants Manager Consultant is a key contributor to our successful fulfillment of foundation and government grants with accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The candidate will serve as the Florida Debate Initiative’s (FDI) grants manager and will be responsible for developing, assembling, and submitting grant proposals, compliance, record keeping, and other similar matters related to helping the FDI in our grants management program. The Grants Management Consultant will see all grants through from project proposal to project end, submitting information as necessary to various grant partners, as well as develop a broad and deep understanding of FDI programs, goals, and financial needs. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Grant writing experience with knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria and funding cycles. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals. Must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints. Must be able to synthesize complex/diverse information, collect and research data, and design workflow and procedures. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner gather and analyze information skillfully in order to develop alternative solutions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree(or 3-7years of combined work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, and or fundraising). 3+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing or grants managementHigh level of computer literacy required, including familiarity with CRM software (i.e. Network for Good, DonorPerfect, NetSuite, etc.) and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Possess a solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants. Preferred Qualifications Certified Grant Writer credential highly preferred. Education grant writing experience is preferred. Proven record of securing major grants with references. Professional experience in payment systems or database management. Experience with administration of grant awards from a diverse range of sources. Experience with state and federal grants preferred. What You Will Do Research and identify new government, corporate, foundations and private funding prospects. Research, identify, develop, and respond to public and private grant opportunities. Prepare accurate, and grammatically and syntactically correct solicitations, grants, proposals, case statements, reports, correspondence, and other development-related communication materials in support of fund-raising goals and activities. Generate revenues for operations, programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well- documented grant/fund-raising proposals and supporting documents. Maintain and implement funding calendar activities, including cultivation activities.Write programmatic and fiscal reports to government, corporate, foundations and other funders.Identify funding opportunities and new program areas to match organizational priorities, using research tools. Serve as a liaison to all funding partners and organizations, including government agencies, foundations and companies. Other responsibilities as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings. Ability to sit, stand, walk or view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
