Position Overview:
This position is responsible for trading, scheduling, and managing the risk of GridStor's ERCOT trading portfolio. The successful candidate will execute trading strategies, analyze market fundamentals, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for trading and optimizing GridStor's battery energy storage system (BESS) assets in ERCOT.
  • Identify opportunities and react to current market conditions by executing transactions in coordination with resource capabilities, including buy/sell commitments for day-ahead, real-time and ancillary services markets.
  • Monitors variables including supply/demand, weather, development and structural risks that influence pricing, availability, and exposures.
  • Work with Origination, Analytics, and Risk teams in analyzing and evaluating complex transactions to ensure that risks and benefits are appropriately identified and priced, as well as the contractual terms are favorable to and consistent with company risk policies.
  • Work with Analytics, IT, and third-party vendor(s) to develop, enhance, and maintain the optimization and analysis tools required for effective trading.
  • Work with Asset management and Engineering teams in coordinating asset maintenance schedules and submit and/or adjust outage tickets as needed.
  • Assist in risk management to align trading strategies with overall company risk policies. Continuously make recommendations on the appropriate risk approach as the business grows and the market evolves.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in trading ISO products with an emphasis on ERCOT
  • In-depth knowledge of power market fundamentals, with expert understanding of physical energy and ancillary markets
  • Experience with CAISO market is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of gas infrastructure is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Strong team player with ability to take initiative and work independently.
Location
  • This position will be based at GridStors headquarters in Portland, OR. The office is easily accessible by commuter train and bus and includes onsite parking.
