Application Engineer - Industrial Circuit Protection Products

Littelfuse is seeking a highly motivated person to join the Engineering team within the Industrial Unit as an Application Engineer. Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer is responsible for providing application support to both internal and external Industrial customers. The candidate will be viewed as a subject matter expert when it comes to overcurrent and overvoltage circuit protection. Candidates should be self-motivated, innovative individuals who work well both independently as well as in a team role. They must have a good understanding of the industrial electrical market with the ability to transfer this knowledge into design wins at key OEMs and to generate new product ideas.

The Application Engineer will support the Industrial Circuit Protection group in providing innovative and technologically advanced solutions for new and emerging markets. The location of this role is flexible but ideally located within the Midwestern USA.

About the Job:

  • Own the role of overcurrent and overvoltage circuit protection subject matter expert
  • Work with sales team along with other technical staff to drive design wins of Littelfuse industrial products
  • Become key point of contact for providing technical support for all industrial products
  • Conduct detailed product and application training events for key customers, technical reps, and internal sales teams
  • Coordinate between engineering, product management, and sales to develop requirements for new products that will deliver best in class solutions to key customers in growing and emerging markets
  • Identify technology and competitive trends in the market and define the impacts to Littelfuse
  • Develop technical publications like white papers, application notes and guides
  • Perform feasibility studies to uncover new product capabilities and features
  • Participate in product standard and industry committees like UL, NEMA, and IEC
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Understand core principles of Electrical and Engineering with the ability to apply to real world applications
  • Flexible and willing to work with multiple functional groups within the company
  • 3-5 years of prior job experience in the industrial electrical industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong communication skills and fluent in English (written and verbal)•Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Driven, self-developer, and eager to make a change
  • Motivated to join an international, fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about technology and looking to apply that passion to a career
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
