In this full-time, permanent role, working primarily with pediatric clients, you’ll have the opportunity to: collaborate with a talented inter-disciplinary team - including OTs, PTs, and Audiologists - to provide pediatric Speech-Language Pathology outpatient and community-based services, including working closely with nearby daycares and nursery schools utilize a social-emotional, neuro-developmental, and play-based focused program to provide a client/family-centered approach to care work in partnership with other staff to provide feeding and swallowing services for children and youth anticipate working in a new Children and Youth rehabilitation space, with a new hospital slated for opening in 2025 The successful candidate for this role will benefit from a Monday through Friday schedule, 15 days of vacation after the first year, a comprehensive health, dental, and pension benefits package, professional development support and other incentives, e.g., relocation reimbursement, final-year master’s program incentive bonus. This area boasts some of the lowest cost of living in our already very affordable province Position Overview: Reporting to the Client Services Manager – Rehabilitation Services, the Speech ‐ Language Pathologist will operate with a high degree of independence as a member of a multidisciplinary regional rehabilitation team. The incumbent will participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation services, using a client centered, goal orientated approach for children and/or adult populations. Experience Previous experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology preferred Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited post-secondary institution Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba Eligibility for membership in Speech-Language and Audiology Canada Qualifications and Skills Skilled ability in the assessment, identification, and treatment of clients of varying ages and with diverse diagnoses Strong organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Excellent English language proficiency, both written and verbal Physical Requirements Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting. Must be able to work under stress and time constraints.
