Job Description:
Environmental Services Tech
Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and also directs actions of staff in the absence of the supervisor
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Displays the ability to read and write in the English language
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Exhibits the ability to competently use industrial cleaning solutions and equipment; vacuum cleaner, wet/dry vacuums, trash compactor
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and assign tasks to effectively complete changing workloads
- Demonstrates ability to make and implement work process related decisions as necessary to maximize staff productivity
- Effective, positive verbal and written communication skills
- High school or equivalent preferred
- Current Oregon driver's license preferred
- A minimum of three months experience working as an Environmental Services Technician at Bay Area Hospital

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity
- May be required to lift up to 45 pounds
- Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, heights.
- Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts.
- Must wear protective clothing as required.
- May be required to travel to various locations
- Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
