Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop and execute strategies to win work to include purchasing, subcontracting and labor cost savings methods.* Lead bid teams to ensure strategy is executed.* Develop estimating system for use by self and others for general construction.* Analyze all trades estimates and determine best cost estimate for project conditions.* Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles or processes. May specialize according to particular service preformed.* Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.* Identify risks during estimate and determine proper mitigation plan for associated risks.* Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.* Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.* Collaborate with proposal team to ensure all of client requirements are satisfied.* Identify resources needed to complete estimating effort and communicate to management.* Attend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs.* Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.* Coordinate with projects managers and other relevant company staff.* Schedule incoming quotes from subcontractors and material and equipment suppliers, hold turnover meetings on successful bids, and meet bid delivery dates.* Other duties as assigned.
